Message From St Marks Medical Centre - Corona-Virus Update 13.03.2020 Posted on 18 Mar 2020

Due to the current risk of spread of the coronavirus the NHS is restricting consultations to telephone triage only with the doctor or nurse. These are essential measures to protect the public and healthcare providers. Anyone with a cough, fever or sore throat you must self-isolate for 7 days (this includes children).

Anyone with these symptoms who is UNWELL should go to NHS 111 online or call 111 for advice - they must not attend the GP surgery. Anyone with these symptoms will be turned away. If you receive a telephone triage you will be given a 4 hour window. Please ensure your telephone is kept as free as possible and make sure we have your up-to-date telephone number. Please note online appointment bookings have been disabled for the foreseeable future.

Message from NHS England:

  • Travel history is now irrelevant.
  • Anyone with these symptoms who is WELL can just stay home and self-isolate. They do not need to ring 111 or be tested.
  • Anyone with these symptoms who is UNWELL should go to 111 online coronavirus symptoms tracker https://111.nhs.uk/service/COVID-19/ or call 111 for advice, you must NOT go to the GP, Pharmacy or Hospital. 111 will assess and advise
